The terminally nutso yet supremely talented local ensemble known as Present Music is all set to beguile and amaze with its season opener at Turner Hall Ballroom tomorrow night, Saturday, September 6. Entitled Present Past, the performance is intended to speak to the grand history of the hall by combining old-timey dance with shiny new music.
The concert will feature John Adam's "Son Of Chamber Symphony" and the collaborative work of PM and Your Mother Dances company. Caroline Mallonée's "Keeping Time In a Bottle" is also slated in the lineup, with the musicians playing--what else?--beer bottles. Sounds like a rollicking good time!
Tickets purchased through Turners are $37, $27 and $10. The show begins at 7PM sharp with ballroom dancing demos by the Milwaukee Turners Ladies Auxiliary, followed by the PM concert at 7:30PM. Also, The Scarring Party will be playing a post concert show.
