Milwaukee Artist Resource Network (MARN) announced this afternoon that it's named jack-of-all-arts Melissa Musante as its new Executive Director. Musante will be the first full-time ED in the organization's 9 year history, and she replaces Interim Director Melissa Dorn Richards, who stepped in when feisty scalawag Mike Brenner resigned the post in disgust last July.
Hmm... Well, Musante couldn't have picked a more exciting moment to take the reigns, what with all the Cultural Alliance stuff happening. She may need all her official time and then some just to scurry between the independents and the bigwigs, but we wish her good sailing through the turbulent waters that no doubt lay ahead.
