Tomorrow marks the start of the much anticipated annual Spring Break for all Milwaukee Public Schools--and the youngins sing, "Whoot!" MPS parents, on the other hand, may well be dreading this ten-day vacation because they haven't had time to figure out how to keep the kiddies occupied in a wonderfilled way.
Well Cricky's got a fabulous suggestion for all you parental units sans a plan and it can be summed up thusly: Afternoons With Art at Walker's Point Center for the Arts! To be more informative, WPCA has scheduled a whole week of afternoon artsy activities for whippersnappers sporting the awesome ages of 6–12 at their brand spankin' new home at 839 S. 5th Street.
I'm tellin' ya, it's gonna be way better than any art program we got when we were kids--raise your hand if this sends a shiver up your spine: "Here's some construction paper. I don't care what ya make, just do it quietly." Shudder. So what makes WPCA's program special? They've got an actual Art Teacher named Kristin Nelson and she knows just how to get the little ones creatin' and havin' fun!
Classes are Monday through Friday, April 5–9, from 1–5PM. Cost is just $35 per ankle biter for the whole week and includes all art materials and healthy snacks--yummy! Registration is required, so call Kristin at 414-672-2787.

WoW!! I'm calling now :) I know WPCA has had great art classes for kids in the past and I can't wait to see what's in store with the new space. I'm excited and so is my 8 year old daughter!
